Hi, I am Avel Glaz,
My taste for art developed thanks to my family. My first activities around photography were the collections of images of Wildlife, and advertisement for Fashion and perfumes. Following in my grand-father and my mother' s foot-steps, I started practicing photography, with a keen interest for macrophotography and reflections. My studies in Biology turned me into a microscopist, an extension to my interest in photography, and curiosity about life and beauty.
To me, photography acts as a window for the exploration and alternate perception of our daily environment. What touches me most is seeing the transformation of seemingly insignificant objects into meaningful and beautiful ones.
My pictures are usually the result of a wandering and wondering state of mind.
Attracted by color palettes, lines, plays of light, my sources of inspiration are wide. In an image, I aim to express what I discover, feel, and experiment. In a city, my photography usually focuses on Fashion display windows , details in architecture, reflections in puddles or buildings. In Nature, the fleeting sceneries, unexpected colors and compositions are offering endless possibilities. Finally, The details of daily life are also a rich source of inspiration: daily objects, jokes, emotions, intimacy, news and incongruous events can be recorded and expressed directly or indirectly into an image.
More recently, I started playing with materials such as oil and acrylic paints, inks, pigments, pencils, and papers creating pieces. Using scans, I incorporate them using digital media, to photographs or other images to creating new stories expressing personal, worldly events or just being the end results of a visual and emotional search.
